The Legal Studies Association of NSW is in its 25th consecutive year of operation.
The association succeeds and thrives due to the dedication, passion, knowledge and generosity of its executive committee members.
The L.S.A. provides wide ranging support for teachers of Legal Studies.
The extent of this support includes:
- The Legal Briefs journal
- Professional Learning events e.g. Information evenings
- An annual state conference
- Specific events for teachers new to Legal Studies
- Regional support for teachers
- Preparation examinations for the preliminary and HSC courses
Further, the provision of student lectures in a host of locations including Western Sydney, Bathurst, Dubbo, Maitland, Armidale, Lismore, Albury, Narooma and Wagga Wagga is a hallmark of the association.
The L.S.A. is your association, it is our association. All suggestions to enhance our service delivery will be considered, whether they are designed to enhance our website, improve our student lectures, upgrade our Legal Briefs journal or make our annual conference, information nights and new teacher’s day even more engaging and more informative.
L.S.A. members are invited and encouraged to attend and actively participate in all of the offerings that we provide. The LSA State Conference is set down for 28 and 29 March 2019. For those wishing to gain valued skills in teaching Legal Studies, we will be running other professional development activities including Law Day Out Experience on Thursday 28 February 2019, Commerce Information Night on Monday 4 March 2019 and a Specific Skills For Teaching Legal Studies day on Saturday 11 May 2019.
We also encourage members to become involved in the association through contributing articles, lesson materials and assessment tasks to our Legal Briefs journal which is published 3 times a year.
As Legal Studies teachers we should all work together to enhance opportunities for success for everyone within our cohort.
