LSA President’s Message July 2025

Dear LSA members.

I hope Term Three will be a good one for you!

Thanks very much to Vice Presidents Teresa O’Dwyer and Jennifer Venhuizen for holding the fort whilst I was overseas. Great job ladies. Thanks also to Malynda and our PTC Office for their continuing hard work for the committee and for members.

Student lectures

So far the student lectures are going extremely well, with Teresa making some changes to best cater for our Newcastle students. A big thanks to Justine Hanks, Rachel Taylor, Tony Stone and Ros Murton for all of their hard work up in Newcastle.

Our flagship lectures are scheduled for this Saturday at Westmead hospital.

Legal Briefs

Our next edition of Legal Briefs is the COMMERCE and LEGAL edition– any articles / strategies / tips on Commerce / Legal Studies: inclusive education, literacy tasks / tips for new teachers, using case studies, assessment. Submissions, via email to president@lsa.net.au are to due by Friday August 1^st(Week 2).

Upcoming events:

• Student Lectures: Saturday July 26 – Westmead and Friday August 22 – Regional lectures
• LSA AGM: Wednesday 30^th July at 5pm via zoom. Nomination forms for anyone wishing to join the LSA Committee for 2025-2026 have been emailed out. Members who like to serve, help out and contribute to their association should think about joining our committee.
